Privacy policy

Nothing that identifies you, by design. The site has no sign-up, no forms and no comments. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code of any kind, including tracking pixels and fingerprinting.

Fonts, images and scripts are all served from bohrin.com itself. Your browser does not contact Google, a font service, or any other third party when you read the site.

Server logs. Like every website, ours is served by a host, Netlify. Netlify automatically records standard access logs: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. Netlify keeps these for less than 30 days to keep the site running and protect it from attacks. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.

Copy buttons put text on your clipboard using your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

If we ever add analytics or anything else that collects data, we will update this policy first, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Nothing. bohrin verify, bohrin power and the Python library make no network calls, a rule enforced by a test in Bohrin's own test suite. There is no telemetry: Bohrin sends nothing about you, your code, your graders or your results. Your grader stays on your machine and is never uploaded.

The software is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so you can check this yourself in the source code.

Some features planned for launch (such as bohrin audit and signing in with a free account) will need an account. Before any of them go live, this policy will be updated to explain exactly what they collect and why.

We only receive personal information when you decide to send it:

• —Email. If you write to founder@bohrin.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.
• —Booking a call. The "Book a call" links open Calendly, a scheduling service. Calendly collects your name, email and anything you add to the booking, under its own privacy policy. We receive those details so we can hold the call.
• —GitHub. Issues or pull requests you open on our repository are public and handled by GitHub under its own privacy policy.

• —To reply to you and hold calls you book. This is based on your request, and on your consent when you choose to contact us.
• —To keep the site running and secure (Netlify's access logs). This is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and safe.
• —To meet legal obligations, if a law or valid legal process requires it.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles, we do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not use your emails to train AI models.

We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and never share it for advertising. The only other companies that handle it are the services that make the site and our email work:

• —Netlify: hosts the website and keeps short-lived access logs.
• —Google Workspace: hosts our email.
• —Calendly: handles call bookings, only if you use it.

These providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. They are bound by their own privacy commitments and data protection terms.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we believe in good faith that it is needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

• —Server logs: less than 30 days, deleted automatically by Netlify.
• —Emails and booking details: as long as we need them for the conversation, and no more than 24 months after our last exchange, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to keep them.

Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy. You can also withdraw consent at any time, and object to how we use your information. Email founder@bohrin.com. We will reply within 30 days, and sooner where the law requires.

In India, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also nominate someone to exercise your rights if you cannot, and complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.

In the EU, UK and similar places, under the GDPR and similar laws, you can also restrict how we use your information and complain to your local data protection authority.

In California, we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines it.

We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Our main protection is simple: we collect almost nothing, so there is very little to lose. The site is served only over HTTPS. The small amount of correspondence we hold is kept in private, access-controlled accounts that only Bohrin can open.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will tell you, and the relevant authority where the law requires it, without undue delay.

Bohrin is a tool for engineers and researchers. The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email founder@bohrin.com and we will delete it.

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page before the change takes effect and change the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also say so on the site. Earlier versions are available on request.
